For a more relaxing time, spend the day lazing on the beautiful sandy beaches.

There are many rambling trails for keen hikers to take in the amazing scenery.

Art lovers will not want to miss the sites of cultural interest like the Roman amphitheatre in Nimes, or the van Gogh Museum in Arles, or be awed by the Pont du Gard.

Festivals and markets abound, particularly in the summer months; Avignon a popular tourist attraction, and its Festival is not to be missed.
